Welcome Kayla Smith to Team Givelify

We are delighted to announce that Kayla Smith has joined the Givelify family! Kayla works with the operations team to authenticate and support member organizations. She also volunteers with the NODA team at the Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital. In Kayla’s own words:

“I’m very passionate about animals and people and making sure to bring value and compassion to their lives. I can’t wait to offer those same ideas to my position with Givelify, as well as bringing my experience with problem solving, my commitment to serving a purpose, and my enthusiasm for working in such an exciting and interesting space. “

As is our tradition here at Givelify, we asked Kayla to complete a “get to know you” survey to help everyone learn more about her interests and background. Check out some of her answers below:

What music is playing in your car right now?
Usually a podcast or music from at least a decade ago!

Who would you most like to meet and why?
That is a very hard question since I have so many! So I’m going to just go with someone living and someone I admire, Angelina Jolie. I would most like to meet her because, in addition to being a stunning and remarkable actress and talented producer, she’s a very passionate humanitarian and really lives a life doing what she can, where she can, to make a lasting impact on everything that is within her reach.

What TV show do you never miss?
Of all the recent tv shows, Game of Thrones, especially the final season. I won’t be missing a single episode!!!

Best advice anyone has given you?
Don’t be chauffeured on the ride of your life. When you are waiting to get somewhere then you will let things pass you by and you won’t see the obstacles in the road until you come upon them. Jump in the driver’s seat, make sure you have control of the wheel and take yourself where you want to go. That way, you can go after the things you want, when you want to and start to see those obstacles from over a mile away.

What would be your go-to karaoke song?
Man, I Feel Like a Woman by Shania Twain

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
Teleportation so I could go where I wanted, when I wanted!

What movie will you never get tired of watching?
Moulin Rouge, I can guarantee I’ve watched the movie over a dozen times (if not more).

What’s in your “Go Bag”?
Everything that verifies my identify, phone, keys, wallet, a change of clothes and the bag would be a cat carrier because I would definitely need to bring the cats!

Do you have any pets?
A cat named Moo and two kittens with unofficial names. (They’re only 4 weeks old!)

What is your favorite candy?
Hershey’s cookies and cream
