Givelify Processes Its First $100,000 in Donations

Some numbers have greater significance than others. The big four-oh. Lucky seven. Five hundred laps. Twenty-four seconds.

The number 100,000 is a significant milestone. It’s an amount that seems very difficult to obtain yet is firmly within the realm of our experience.

In astronomy, 100,000 meters is the altitude at which the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) defines spaceflight to begin.

In Gaelic, Ceád Mile Fáilte is a popular greeting meaning “A Hundred Thousand Welcomes”.

In piphilology, one hundred thousand is the current world record for the number of digits of pi memorized by a human being.

We’re celebrating a milestone ourselves: In the first 60 days of its existence, Givelify successfully processed over $100,000 in mobile donations.

Obviously that’s a drop in the bucket compared to our goals, but we feel it’s a pretty significant start. The app is currently available only for churches. We’re working on making sure it’s all it should be before we open it up to not-for-profits of all stripes and political organizations.

As these new groups come on board, this first $100,000 will indeed seem tiny—but it’s no less significant.

We would like to thank our member organizations and the thousands of user/donors for their support in helping us bring our dream into the world.

We are excited and passionate about enabling people to donate to the organizations of their choosing. Whether it’s a little or a lot, once in a while or often, supporting causes and groups near and dear to your heart should be simple and quick.

Not-for-profits like animal rescues, food pantries, health clinics and other social causes are often understaffed and overstretched. We feel Givelify will help them solicit and process donations easily and seamlessly, allowing them to focus doing their good work.

We’re excited about our first $100,000. We’re more excited about what’s to come.
