Don’t Let Bad Weather Dampen Your Church Giving

You attend church multiple times every month, and you make it a habit to give on a regular basis, too. But what happens if the weather doesn’t cooperate and you end up far away from the church building? With modern technology, you can make sure inclement weather never dampens your church giving again.

Giving When Service Is Cancelled

When bad weather strikes, the staff of your favorite church may decide to cancel services, choir practices, or group meetings. This is great for the safety of you and your fellow churchgoers, but what does that mean for your church giving? If you can’t participate in offering time, you miss out on an opportunity to give.

You may decide to make up for it by giving double the following week, but there is a good possibility that by the time next week rolls around, you will have forgotten. You are a busy person with a lot going on during the week. You don’t need one more thing on your already crowded to-do list.

The Problem with Unpredictable Weather

This problem is not limited to one season of the year or one particular location. In the summer months, you could be held back from services due to tornado warnings, severe thunderstorms, or flooding. In the winter, snowstorms might cause services to be cancelled in northern states. Some locations are prone to natural disasters that require evacuation, such as wildfires or hurricanes.

Weather is unpredictable, and you can never know for sure when it could keep you away from church — and making your offering.

Church Giving on Your Smartphone

Thankfully, modern technology is available that can solve this problem. You no longer have to be physically present in the church building in order to make an offering or other donation. Instead, you can give to your place of worship using an app on your smartphone. That means you can give any time of the day or night, and you can make an offering from anywhere you happen to be.

If you are stuck at home due to a tornado warning or blizzard conditions have caused services to be cancelled, all you have to do is pull out your phone and give. You don’t have to wait until next week, and you don’t have to deal with the added stress of trying to remember to make up for a missed donation.
