Church Donations: Need Doesn’t Take a Summer Vacation

Summer is a great time to take a family vacation. You’ve worked hard all year, and you deserve some quality time away.

Summer is a dreaded time for charities and the people they cater to: it’s always the slowest time of year for nonprofit and church donations.

But need doesn’t take a summer vacation. Your church likely conducts mission trips and Vacation Bible School on top of the usual schedule of community outreach like feeding the hungry and sheltering the homeless.

Car washes, yard sales, and block parties are all lots of fun. But what happens when you’re not able to attend?

How to Stay Involved

Everybody deserves a rest from work. Your church donations don’t have to go by the wayside while you’re enjoying some time poolside.

No matter where you go to get away, you can take your church with you. The answer is right in your hand: your smartphone.

Engage On Social Media

Find and follow your church on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, or wherever else they might be on the internet. Don’t just read their posts: react. Comment, like and share what they’re putting out there.

You’ll feel more connected to your church and your fellow worshippers. You will also help spread their message and mission.

Follow Your Church’s Blog

If your church has a blog, be sure to subscribe to it. It will always be an up-to-the-minute source of news and information.

See a blog post about a money shortage for a mission trip? Forward it to your friends and other parishioners. You never know how many people will see it and respond with a donation.

Mobile Church Donations

Just because you can’t attend services or fundraisers doesn’t mean you can’t give. Use your church’s online giving tool on their website to contribute.

And of course there’s Givelify, the mobile giving app that lets you donate to your favorite church anytime, anywhere.

Whether you’re at the beach, the amusement park, the airport, or just enjoying some quiet back yard time, church donations, offerings and tithes are just a few taps away.
