The Case for Single-Purpose Giving Apps: Givelify On Nonprofit Hub

An article by Matt Chandler, Givelify’s Director of Digital Marketing, was selected as a featured post on Nonprofit Hub. The first of a two-part series called “Distraction Is the Enemy of Donation: The Case for Single-Purpose Giving Apps” was published this week, with part two going online on Wednesday, August 12.

Nonprofit Hub is part of the Nonprofit Hub Foundation, an organization with a mission to educate and empower nonprofits, and is one of the largest nonprofit blogs.

Distraction Is the Enemy of Donation

The most successful and widely-used apps have begun to spin off features into single-purpose apps. Facebook unbundled Messenger into its own standalone app, and now has eight separate apps including Instagram and WhatsApp.

LinkedIn has followed a similar path and now has six unique apps, each serving a different objective. Foursquare split into two apps, one dedicated to location sharing and the other to peer recommendations.

There are two key questions you must ask yourself:

1. What do our donors want and need to do?
2. What do we as fundraisers need our donors to do?

Read the rest of Distraction Is the Enemy of Donation: The Case for Single-Purpose Giving Apps, and be sure to check back next week for part two.
